COMPUTOR CRASH!

Our computer recently crashed so the blog is not gonna be that active the next couple of days. Have to take the opportunity to throw some trash at HP, the fucking computer is 6 months old and already been into service twice. Also the service time was like 30 days!! Fuckin' hell! REACH & SPIN!!! 3(3)

Aight! This is the final 4/4-SpeedGarage post we'll make for now. But it's also the best... As promised we give you the legendary 'Reach & Spin - The Hype!'. It was originally released on white in 1997, as a bootleg of "Reach" (Judy Cheeks) and "Spin Spin Sugar (Armand Van Helden's Dark Garage Mix)" (Sneaker Pimps). The original bootleg had "Spin Spin Sugar" with the vocals of "Reach" on top. The B-side (dub mix), the one we're posting, was known as "Hype Funk" or "The Hype". Soon enough, this track became the bigger of the two, four years down the line (in 2001) Alex Ellenger and Jon Skinner decided to release it under the alias "Reach & Spin" on Go! Beat.

We also give to you our own remix of it with the DJ Blaqstarr - Shake It To The Ground vocals on it. FRESH!

4/4 & Speed Garage 1(3) !!!

The 4/4, Speed Garage, 2Step scene is basically dead. But, as we said before, we think a revival is in sight! We are planning to do three 4/4 - Speed Garage posts this week, this being the first of them. We give you two classics that are also pretty rare, there wheren't any re-releases or anything. Daryl B is a classic 4/4 producer among other styles and definitly deserves RESPECT! He released tracks on classic labels such as the Pure Silk. Next up this week is the legendary Todd Edwards! These two german guys in Format B, namned Jakob and Franziskus has both a long musical background which can be heard by their productions. The latest release Gunface is released at Stir Vor Talent Records, and the earlier release Cosa Nostra Funk is signed at Opposum Records ! Cosa Nostra Funk has been played at clubs all over the world since 2005, tho its not new we wanted to post it cause its already a classic according to us! Both these releases and their other productions can be bought at Beatport. GRAB THEM!

HANNAH HOLLAND!

Hannah Holland was raised in South London on a strict diet of basslines and bounce, after a brief stint making videos for luminaries such as Goldfrapp and Faithless she decided to devote her time completely and utterly to making and playing music. For the last three years Hannah has dutifully appeared at her beloved Trailer Trash residency.

Hannah has recently turned her hand to music production and has been commissioned to remix the 2003 mega hit ‘Kinda New’ by Spektrum (Ministry).

Along with self-confessed “hot rock bitch” Mama Shamone, Hannah Holland also runs the ‘Bastard Batty Bass’ parties at the Vice magazine owned Old Blue Last in London.

We really like her sound and decided to post her "Unleash the Beast" mini-mix and two of her tracks. CHECK IT!
